SVRG - In The Air, Everywhere - IRLP 3228
- Check in to the Net Wednesday 8 PM -
Salinas Valley Repeater Group operates a wide area linked repeater system, serving California from the Monterey Bay high above the Santa Cruz Mountains, to the Bay Area, down to the coast of Big Sur and over to the San Joaquin Valley.
This system consists of 16 full time linked repeaters spread out over many locations for use by any licensed amateur radio operator within its coverage area.
Our mission is to provide a wide area linked system that is enjoyable to operate on - you could say we are 'lax' in the fact that unlike other wide area linked systems long rag chew QSO's are welcome, and some would say encourged. In the event of an emergency or if priority traffic is present, we have the advantage of full duplex linking. This gives an operator the ablity to "chime in for help" giving the station a better chance of being heard during a QSO.

Donations to the WB6ECE repeater group help SVRG directly by keeping us at our collocated tower sites, aids in upkeep and future expansion of the microwave network - we rely on to link our repeater system. It also keeps the Mt. Toro repeaters on the air.
